How to Get a Five Year Multiple Entry Schengen Visa for Filipino Citizens

With a Schengen Visa, you can not only go to 26 member countries + 3 microstates but also more than 30 nations or territories. No more additional applications for visa, you can easily show your valid Schengen Visa, and you can enter. Those granted can spend time in the area for a maximum of 90 days in a 180 day period, but mostly it is 15 days for first-timers. But you’ll eventually get the max!

Where to Apply for a Schengen Visa?

All of them, except Liechtenstein, can issue Schengen visas. You can apply as early as 6 months before your flight. This will also ensure that you have time for remonstrance if all else fails.

You need to apply at:

1. The country where you’re exclusively visiting;
2. If you’re visiting several countries in the Schengen Area, apply at the country where you’ll be staying in the longest; or
3. If you’re visiting several countries in the Schengen Area in equal duration, apply in the first country you are arriving.

About Schengen Visas

Here are the 3 types of Schengen Visas:

Type A

Given to those you will have an Airport Transit in the Schengen Area

Type C

Short Stay Visa that can grant the holder a maximum of 90 days in the Schengen Area in a 180 day period. It also has 3 classes:

• Single Entry or shown in the visa as <<1>> – You can only enter a Schengen area once, and if you go out, you can’t come back. Please note that the one doesn’t mean one country, just one entry. As long as it is within the Schengen Zone, you can go to as many countries as you want.
• Double Entry or <<2>> – You can enter the Zone twice during your visa’s validity and the total days granted. For example, you can get out of France and to the UK (provided you have a UK visa) and come back to Germany or France.
• Multiple Entry or <<MULT>> – You can enter and exit the Schengen Area as many times as you want.

Type D

A long-Term visa, it’s valid for more than 3 months. It allows the holder to travel in the Schengen Area for 90/180 days, excluding the country which issued the visa.

How to Get a Five Year Multiple Entry Schengen Visa

This is based on the updated Schengen Visa Code dates February 2020. They have defined set specific rules in getting a Multiple Entry Schengen Visa.

STEP 1: Apply for a regular Schengen Visa and use it. You will usually get a Single Entry Visa, which is valid for 15 days or based on the itinerary that you’d submit.

STEP 2: Apply for more Schengen visas within 2 years. You might be able to get a 1 Year Multiple Entry Schengen Visa.

A 1 Year ME Schengen Visa is obtained if you lawfully used 3 Schengen visas within the previous two years. You need to show proof of your visas and trips upon applications.

STEP 3: After using your 1-year visa, you can apply again for a Schengen Visa. You can get a 2 Year Multiple Entry Visa.

A 2 Year ME Schengen Visa is obtained if you lawfully used a one-year ME visa within the last two years. You need to show proof of your visas and trips upon applications.

STEP 4: After using your 2 Year ME Visa, you can get a Five Year Multiple Entry Schengen Visa.

A 5 Year ME Schengen Visa is obtained if you lawfully used a two-year ME visa within the last 3 years. You need to show proof of your visas and trips upon applications.

Schengen Visa Fee

Single, Double, or Multiple Type C Visas have the same costs.

• EURO 80 – for applicants above 12 years old
• EURO 40 – for applicants aged between 6 to 12

It may sometimes vary per country you apply to as they have different exchange rates when converted to Peso. Visa Service Fees or Courier Fees may also vary.
