Thank you will tell her that. I hope that everything is not final insofar as booking is concerned. She may have booked with multiple airlines.

My sister flew via Barcelona and transit visa was not required but she booked it with the same airlines. Please tell your friend to book if with the same airlines and maybe only less than 3 hours transit would be good.

Hello,
A friend of mine is going to Lima as her final destination from Manila. She is taking the Europe route after being denied a US tourist visa (she initially intended to go through the US and make a brief stopover to visit family). Anyway, she booked her flights which have layovers in Korea, Germany and Portugal. My question is, does she still need a transit visa going through Germany and Portugal even if her final destination is Lima? She did not apply for any transiy visa or any Shengen visa for that matter. She has never been to Europe obviously and the only visa she applied for was a Korean visa. Thank you in advance :)

As far as I know, if you book it with the airlines then no issue kasi it's their route and as long as you wont leave the airport.. We had a connection in Saudi Arabia and got stuck there for 20 hours, they didnt require a transit visa because we were just at the airport.. Maybe different case if western countries.. have to be check and be updated though, we';ve been in Latin America for a while now.

Hi Kach! No limitation on time? Lay over time? I hope 16 hours waiting time in the airport is fine

a valid visa from any OECD countries, it says. I have Japan & Korea. I might do 3 month europe after turkey, then off to South America but it will all depend on how much money I've got come May 2017. If I have enough by then, I will apply for a Schengen.

Miranda, if it's a transit and you have a sure connecting flight then they wont require you a visa. Same as what happened with me in Amsterdam and Frankfurt, I didnt have a Schengen visa. - oops this is Kach!

I plan to drop by in Turkey for a 30 days via KL, then Istanbul to Rio with Turkish Airline. Has anyone here tried the on-line Turkish Visa application? How was it?

Hi Kach! Thanks for the very helpful post! Do I need to get a tourist visa for stops such as the ones in Middle East or Europe if I'm not going to leave the airport? (I'm planning to take a few connecting flights to Rio and not really exploring the cities on the way.) A friend told me there's no need, but I'm not quite sure.
