The Bloc Camp Site: A Glamping Experience in Laguna, Philippines

Glamping in Laguna is one of the highly recommended things to do if you’re in Metro Manila or anywhere near the capital! Read our experience below!

With a lot going on around, it is not wrong to take a break. Yes, you need that! Short holiday vacation at the beach? Go for it. Just a day trip? No problem! Staycation? There’s a lot of choices! We all need some “me time” in these trying situations. For as long as you follow precautionary measures, being careful all the time, and you have the money, then go ahead and spoil yourself sometimes.

The good thing is, just a few clicks on the internet will let you discover more places that are really worth it! Do you know that glamping is now a hot topic when we talk about a staycation? Yes! Glamping is now being recognized in the country as one of the best things to do to relieve your stress. Recently, we discovered this glamping site located just southeast of Metro Manila. BLOC Camp Site is the pioneer of glamping in Laguna!

What is Glamping?

Glamping is the combination of “Glamorous” and “Camping”. Why? Because Glamping is a type of camping but with complete amenities and usually gets a resort type of services. So in short, it is not the typical or traditional camping that we all knew. You don’t need to bring a lot of stuff like a tent, a sleeping bag, etc. With glamping, almost everything is already there for you!

The same with camping, glamping can be done within nature which is really ideal for some peace and tranquility. With glamping, you don’t need to worry when it suddenly rains during your outdoor recreation as the cabins have a roof, complete with 4 walls, and a comfortable bed to sleep on.

Farmstaycation Glamping at Bloc Farm Stay, Laguna

Since summer in the Philippines has already started, I and my friends decided to try glamping. We found this gem in Laguna that really captured our attention. The Bloc Camp Site and Bloc Farm Stay. Both located in Laguna, these two glamping sites are owned by the same individual. Bloc Farm Stay is located in Cavinti, Laguna and we went here first before we headed to the Bloc Camp Site.

This glamping site is on a ranch and there are also farm animals in the area such as cows, goats, and rabbits.

Farm T-Houses at Bloc Farm Stay

The T-Houses at Bloc Farm Stay are cozy, unique, picture-worthy, and cute! There are 4 t-houses on the site with different sizes. Once you enter one of the t-houses, you’ll be mesmerized by how cute they are inside. Some T-Houses have 2nd floor for group glamping, some only have 1 floor which is perfect for couples.

Activities at the Bloc Farm Stay

There are a lot of cool activities you can try at the Bloc Farm Stay. All of which are available at a different rate.

Milking of Cows

It was my first time doing this and wow, I thought this one was easy! I didn’t really imagine that milking cows will be challenging, lol. I thought you just have to squeeze them and let the milk flow down in its full glory haha! There are actually methods that you need to follow to be able to get some milk. No worries as there’s a guide that will teach you how to do it the right way and to make sure the cow won’t accidentally kick you (that’s why you need to be careful about doing this!) I must say that this activity was my favorite!

Feeding of Calves

Now I can say that this one is easy. At a different rate, you can experience feeding calves with milk (2.5 L bottle). No need for some demo, this is a piece of cake, hehe.

Bonfire

If you’re glamping with your “barkada”, then you know that it’s one of the best things to do! They can set up the bonfire for you. So bring your marshmallow and sticks for some smores while “spilling teas” or singing your heart out with friends!

When it’s time for your checkout, you can purchase their milk, the one from the cows. I was hesitant to buy it at first because I’m not sure how it would taste but it was so good! We even bought more to bring back home. They have the pure milk flavor, chocolate, and milk tea, all so good!

Lakeside Glamping at Bloc Camp Site, Laguna

After our farm staycation, we directly headed to Bloc Camp Site. It’s located at a different Barangay and is a 20-30 minutes drive away from the Bloc Farm Stay.

In contrast with Bloc Farm Stay, Bloc Camp Site is situated on a lakeside, literally on a lakeside that once you step out of the back door, the lake will welcome you! And that is an absolute dream for me! The whole place has a peaceful atmosphere and at night, when the area is lit, it becomes magical!

T-Houses at Bloc Camp Site

The T-Houses here are also the same as the ones at the Bloc Farm Stay. The only difference is the location and the surroundings. If you prefer to stay in a tent rather than a T-House, then you can also do that here. There are also tents at the lakeside for people who prefer the traditional camping style.

Activities at the Bloc Camp Site

Aside from relaxing, there are also activities you can do here.

Swimming

It is possible to swim in the lake. At the time of our visit, I didn’t try this activity since I’m not really fond of swimming….. because I can’t swim. And it was cold at that time, my body can’t handle that, hehe. My cousin tried this though, in the morning and she really enjoyed it.

Kayaking

Since it is the lakeside, of course, you can also do kayaking. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to do this because we didn’t have enough time (all we did was take a lot of photos that we didn’t notice the time, lol.)

Bonfire

Same with Bloc Farm Stay, you can also sit around a bonfire with your friends. Laugh together, eat together, and just be happy with each other’s company while seating under the stars. So heartwarming!

If you will use public transportation:

From PITX, ride a bus going to Sta. Cruz, Laguna. Then when you arrive at the Sta Cruz Bus terminal, take a tricycle and ask the driver to drop you at Bloc Camp, Brgy. Bukal, Cavinti, Laguna.

3. Is there a WiFi connection?

There is no wifi connection at the T-Houses of both Bloc Farm Stay and Bloc Camp Site. However, you can tell the staff so they can assist you with the internet connection as they have it at their office. It’s still best to bring your own pocket wifi if you’re planning to work there too.

4. Can we bring our own food?

Bringing food is highly recommended. At the Bloc Farm Stay, you can also cook your own food in the kitchen (bring your own utensils too.) If you don’t want to bother yourself with cooking, you can buy food instead. Just tell the staff and they will prepare food for you. The same goes with the Bloc Camp Site.
